The 2 Best Outdoors Bachelor Party Ideas

by Daniel Beach

I recently had a hard problem to solve. My best friend is getting married and I'm the best man. Problem? How do I plan an awesome bachelor party for someone who loves the outdoors and would hate (as I) the typical bachelor party.

It sounded easy at first, but after more thought, maybe it was not going to be as easy after all.

When you're planning for a bachelor party most of the time it involves a whole weekend right? So, my first problem was that this idea had to take up a whole weekend, and not break the bank. Finding a outdoor bachelor party that would take up a whole weekend, and not get boring, serves up it's own challenges.

Also, when planning a bachelor party for someone who loves the outdoors and outdoor adventures and activities, it puts a lot of pressure on the planner to get it right, and have something fun, different, and awesome.

So, what are the 2 best outdoors bachelor party ideas?

1. Rent a Cabin at the local State Parks .
2. Go on a weekend camping excursion.

These two ideas are similar, yet different, and hold unique features that will help you plan the best outdoors bachelor party ever held.

1. Rent a Cabin
This idea works well for the bachelor party that may have some members that are not the hardcore outdoors type. Sometimes camping is just not practical for all people and seasons involved. Snow, rain, and a bunch of babies attending can put a damper on this idea. Enter the rent a cabin idea.

Most everyone of us lives fairly near, or close enough in driving distance to some State Park. Many State Parks also boast a few cabins that can be reserved and rented.

These cabins usually don't break the bank and are pretty easy on the wallet. An off season cabin only cost me $85 per night for two nights. Not bad at all!

The comfort of the cabins allows for a greater range of people and activities. What more could that outdoors person you are planning the bachelor party for want then I great rustic cabin back in the woods? You can seat around a campfire telling stories, then retreat to the cabin for food and sleep(optional).

Renting a state park cabin is usually cheap, fun, and will provide a great weekend that is not the typical night on the town bachelor party.

2. Go on a Weekend Camping Excursion.
This bachelor party weekend works well if you have a bunch of guys that love to spend time in the outdoors, or at least don't have a problem doing so. Sure, everyone may not be an avid outdoors person, but most people can go camping without too much complaint.

The great thing about choosing a camping weekend for a bachelor party is it doesn't get much cheaper, and also it normally dosent get much more fun. Usually the camping experience creates a bond between a group of people that is not easily broken. So when planning a camping bachelor party you can be sure everyone will leave talking about how good of a time they had.

It usually involves a blazing inferno and great camp food for the evenings, normally some privacy if you pick the right spot, and a unique experience none will forget anytime soon. Hiking, fishing, hunting, biking, climbing are just a few of the things that can keep the group busy all day on a weekend camping trip.

What do both these ideas, the cabin and camp have in common? They take place in the great outdoors and are a perfect bachelor party getaway that you will be talking about for years to follow.

It's easy in either one of these situations to hike, fish, hunt, lounge around, paddle, or take part in a million other outdoor activities.

Have you ever had a outdoorsy bachelor party experience? What did you do? What is awesome or not so much?
