The 5 Best Outdoor Adventure Blogs (You've Never Heard Of)

by Daniel Beach

Yup, another one of those weekends, evenings, or days off that you end up sitting around on the couch dreaming about adventure and romping around in the great outdoors. Don't pretend like you don't have those days and evenings. Luckily we have the wonderful world wide web to escape to, that is until you reach the end. Then what?

We have decided to work up a list of the five best outdoor adventure blogs that you have never heard of, probably. These are the best of the best that are off the beaten path. I'm willing to bet that you get tired of the same old gear review blogs, not that they don't have their place.

So, check out some of these great outdoor adventure blogs that will get you inspired to get up and off that couch. You can stay long enough to check out these sites though.

1. Adventure-Inspired
This may be a lesser known blog, but for anyone who loves reading about the whole spectrum outdoor adventure with a few gear reviews sprinkled in, this is the place for you. Adventure-Inspired is written by Katie Levy and she gives the blog posts a great personal touch and some reality, refreshing yes.

2. The Outage
Looking for some reads that are outside the normal? Then the Outage is the place for you. This interesting and awesome blog is all about the great outdoors. Don't be fooled though, this is not just another outdoor adventure blog, the posts on the Outage are not shallow, but they go deep and explore topics in depth. Bored with the average post? Check out the Outage.

3. Midwest Multi Sport Life
Just because you're not from the Midwest does not mean this blog isn't for you. Of all the outdoor adventure blogs I read, this one probably has the greatest breadth of topics, from running to just getting out on the weekend in the city, this blog has something for everyone. Check it out.

4. Around Puget Sound and Beyond
Another blog you may not have run across, but defiantly worth your time! This outdoor blog covers a variety of outdoor topics and locations. If you're looking to shake things up, and discover new places and activities, Around Puget Sound and Beyond should be added to your blogroll.

5. Front Side Fly
This blog is probably one of the most well put together and interesting sites out there right now. Even if you're not an avid fly fisher this blog will catch your imagination. Probably one of the best parts of this site is all the awesome video that is shot and put up on the blog. Nothing like a good video showing the outdoor wonder of this world to shake up your normal blog reading evening!
